Biography: Dorothy West
Dorothy West is a novelist, editor, short story writer. She was born on 2 June, 1907,
in Boston, Massachusetts and died on 16 August 1998.She lived in one of the very few well-to-do black families in Boston. Dorothy studied journalism and philosophy at Columbia University.
Her first novel, “The Living Is Easy” (1948), put her on the literary map.
Dorothy West became the Youngest of Harlem Renaissance writers.
